My DREAM, My FUTURE :)

Live Your Values, Pursue Your Dreams, And Follow Your Passions”. This really implies the true ways we must do to have the best future life we could possibly have. Seeing through around the earth, we will find all kinds of people exist in the world. I think why those people are different from each other might be a difficult task to study which factor influences and drives them different.

When I was a child, my teachers and parents said to me, “people who have no dreams of the future will not fly far away”. Do you pay attention in how fast time goes by? From the age of 5 we spend our time busy with school, and then we grow up to find a job and build up a family. Before we realize, time has passed by and all the dreams we had for our future have not yet come true. The reason is because our dreams are just dreams and haven’t yet become goals. The only way to achieve our goals is to know what we want to plan how to get it. Life is a dream, realize it.

In my future I want to do so many things. One of the things I want to do is become a Civil Engineer so I can build my own house that the engineer is me. This is the one of my short-time goals I want to achieve. After that I want to get a well-paid job as an Engineer, doing all kind of projects to improve the infrastructure of different cities. I also want to create an organization for the poor and shelter less people in my country; I believe that we should all have the same privilege like have a place to live in and receive an education. I wish for a happy and healthy life, who doesn't? But this is something I can only wish for. On the other hand I can work hard to make my dreams come true.

There are also other things that I would like to do at some point. One of my dreams is to travel around the world. I have always been curious about other cultures and the differences between people in other countries. It would be amazing to travel the whole world.

In the future I may have new dreams, but the first goal I have to achieve is getting my diploma. This is one of the keys to accomplish my other goals and dreams. After becoming a professional, I want to start a family, one lovely wife and maybe three children’s and have one beautiful  home to raise my kids and grow old with the people I love the most.

Change: It Starts With Me

Failures are part of life .If you don’t fail, you don’t learn. If you don’t learn you’ll never learn. We changes of course for the best. As they said that nothing stays the same forever or everything changes. It is not bad to change as long as it is for the better. Never change for the worst.

We always notice others mistakes, but we never reflect to ourselves. We are busy helping other people to change but we can’t help ourselves to change. We always say we want change but we are doing nothing. We always complain but we never move. I have a lot of things that have changed my life. There are some that are good and there are some that are bad. I would not change any of them because they are the reason that I am who I am today. The reasons are to make a better life for myself and my loved ones and to meet new types of people.

We change for two reasons, either we learned a lot or we've hurt too much. Don’t let our anger, insecurities and hate changes us because we will not succeed instead we choose to change because we want to and because this is our way of letting go of them. From time, we can help others to lift up.

Insight: Ylocos Kannawidan Festival

Every year, we are celebrating Kannawidan Festival and once, lets again bring back the pat, culture and traditions. This celebration started last January 30, 2015 and ended on February 13, 2015, a two-week long festive celebration of happiness. This is not only for us to reminisce the past but it unites BigueƱos.

Ilocos Sur has a rich heritage and unique culture that are to be preserved for the next generations because it is observed that many of these traditions, songs, dances and other Ilocano culture are not familiar to the younger generations already.

We should be proud of for this is the only city that is preserved. I’m glad to see that even children participated and danced the ethnic music, it means, our culture is still alive even we are here in we so called “modern world.” They are not shy to show where they came from. They are not ashamed to wear “bahag” that symbolizes our very own culture.

Kannawidan Ylocos Festival aims to create awareness that we are rich in culture heritage, practices and traditions that attracts tourist. We should never forget the past, for they bring us fame. We should treasure and preserve those for the next generations to witness how rich Ilocos Sur in culture, traditions and practices.

REFLECTION

Third grading is almost over and we had one more grading to focus with. Third grading, I discovered new things that I’ve never noticed before. I never get interested to those things. But now, I started to love and get more interested to them. Those things that I discovered contributed a lot in my current existence as a student. To be honest, I’m doing a mess in my class during discussions especially when I got bored. Sometimes, I always mess up with my seatmate. I always disturb her when she’s listening to our discussion. That’s the only thing I can do when I get really bored. Though I’m making mess in my studies, I can still concentrate and listen to my teacher. Third grading may be hard but still I find it enjoyable.

New Year, New Me!

New Year, Ne Me!

Goodbye 2014 and hello 2015. All the events that took place into my life in the year 2012 are now just memories, whether it was good or bad, happy or sad. As days go by and clock ticks before the midnight of December 31st 2012 my minds starts to think of the past realizing what have I done right nor wrong to my life. Looking back at the times where I, my mom, my father, and my brother are having a lovely evening as we wait for the New Year. I missed all the warm hugs, kisses, smile, love and happiness especially during this time of the year and it is priceless.

My life has to move forward for the betterment of my future which is guided by my dreams and wishes. In this year of 2015, I promise to myself to do what is necessary to be done for the betterment of my future. I promise to focus more on to my priorities such as my study; be more responsible as a young man; and specially to pay more attention to my family's need by means of looking and keeping in touch as much as possible with my younger brother and my loving mom and also my father.

From my past experiences I have learned a lot of things especially in the aspects of life itself, which made me realized to act accordingly and responsibly. That’s why I came up with ideas which are now made into my promises. My family is my inspiration and with the guidance of the Lord I believe that I can make this happen. Focus on my studies and the thing money can never buy is having my family so closely together again. All I need is luck, happiness, peace, friendship and love. <3

The True Essence of Christmas

To me Christmas means a time of happiness towards everyone. It is a time when families and close friends come home from all over the world to be with the people they love. To most people family and friends come first in their lives, so this is obviously a very favored holiday.

When it’s Christmas time, people exchange gifts often and take it for granted. This holiday is usually associated with receiving gifts. Personally, I think giving a gift is just as great as receiving one. Most of the time giving can be even more enjoyable. The whole idea of finding that perfect gift, making someone smile, and him or her realizing that you put that much thought into just one gift is just one way which Christmas brings happiness to everyone.

They imagine seeing snow-covered houses lit up all along the street with their bright lights one trying to outdo another, and a large, fresh pine tree in their living room window covered with lights and bulbs with an angel perched onto the very top. When they come in the kitchen they smell the contagious aroma of their mother’s cookies baking. That is an example of a typical outlook on a normal Christmas. To me it’s not Christmas without the decorations or festive Christmas treats.

Christmas time is my favorite time of year. I love when it’s time to shop for all those Christmas gifts for everyone. I love the red and green decorations, and my beautifully decorated Christmas tree sitting in my living room and the great music. But most of all, I love this time of year because I get the chance to be with my family and friends while I enjoy everyone’s Christmas cheer during this wonderful time of year. And Christmas is also togetherness. Being with the people you love, laughing, sharing a meal, and sharing happy memories. :)

Climate Change

The world now faces one of the most complex and important issues it has ever had to deal with: climate change.  Though this was once an issue that would draw much argument and strife about its creditability, most of the world’s nations can no longer deny that it is a real issue. Climate includes patterns of temperature, precipitation, humidity, wind and seasons. "Climate change" affects more than just a change in the weather; it refers to seasonal changes over a long period of time. These climate patterns play a fundamental role in shaping natural ecosystems, and the human economies and cultures that depend on them. Because so many systems are tied to climate, a change in climate can affect many related aspects of where and how people, plants and animals live, such as food production, availability and use of water, and health risks.
There are so many factories that exhale really destructive substances and pollute the air. We all know very well that air is something we can’t live without. When we breathe the polluted air, we can easily get cancer in our lungs. So we must wear mask if we are in the polluted air so that we can avoid lung cancer.  We cannot escape from the polluted air-it’s everywhere, even in our homes and we are breathing it non-stop. This can cause cancer and other serious diseases. And even the sunlight, when you stay long under the sun it can cause sunburn, and it will destroy your skin. So avoid stay long under the sun.

As a conclusion, our president or all the officials in our country should prioritize combating climate change over reducing poverty. Of course, poverty is a big issue, which needs a solution to the poor people who dies. Why are they dying? It’s because the climate doesn't allow them to grow food and they can’t afford to buy it from other countries. The climate is a very important thing and if we don’t stop the changes soon, more and more plants and trees are going to die, we won’t have enough food and then not only will the third world countries suffer from hunger but so will the whole world. I think it is better to first stop the changes in climate and then gradually reduce the hunger in the poor countries. Because if we stop the changes, we are going to be healthier and everything around us will be cleaner and it will be how it actually should be. I believe harmony between nature and human beings will return.
